Do Part-Time Maids Do Laundry?
In Singapore, doing the laundry does not come on the list of responsibilities of part-time maids. However, a lot of maids may agree to do the laundry but on an extra charge. This depends completely upon the maid.
Few maids may agree to do the laundry if offered extra money and some may not do it. Maids who agree to do the laundry will wash the laundry, dry it and also fold them for you.
So if you need your laundry to be done as well you need to look for a maid who would agree to do the laundry if charged extra.
How Much Extra Is Charged For Laundry?
On average, for cleaning your laundry, drying it, and folding it, a maid may charge up to $3 to $5 for one pound of laundry. However, it may differ from place to place and from maid to maid. Mainly for different locations, the charges are different for laundry.
So talk to the maid before they start working to avoid any further problems.
Most importantly if they agree to do your laundry with an extra charge they will do all kinds of laundry and will also clean, wash, dry, and fold larger laundry items like bedsheets, pillow covers, duvet covers, and runners as well.
Is It Feasible To Pay Extra For The Laundry?
It is worth it paying an extra amount for your laundry to the part-time maid. This is because laundry is one of the most tiring and one of the major parts of your daily household chores. Also if the clothes are not washed properly it can be a great problem as we generally do not have time to re-change our clothes after getting ready for work.
Most importantly, part-time maids are professionally trained who exactly know which stain can be removed but which ingredient and by which method.
Also when you pay extra to the maid for the laundry they don’t wash laundry only but they make it a point to wash laundry, dry them, fold them and finally iron them as well. So you are getting 3 major work done by paying a small extra to the maid.
